With this declaration, you agree that the OPUS online shop may gather, use, and process your personal information for the purposes described here. You may revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.

What kind of personal customer data do we collect and use?The information you provide helps us to create an individual shopping experience for you at the OPUS online shop and to continuously improve it. We use this information to handle orders, deliver products and services and to process payments. Furthermore, we use this information to communicate with you with regard to orders, products, services and promotional offers, update our records and generally maintain your accounts that lie with us, display content such as wish lists and customer reviews and recommend merchandise and services that might be of interest to you. We also use this information to improve our store and platform, prevent or detect fraud or abuses of our website and enable third parties to carry out technical, logistical, or other functions on our behalf.
We collect the following informationInformation provided by you: We record and save all pieces of information that you enter on our website or transmit in any other way. We will use this information in order to give your purchase a more personal note, in order to improve our platform and to communicate with you.
Automatic information: As soon as you contact us, we receive and save certain pieces of information. Among other things, we - like many other websites - use so-called cookies and flash cookies and receive certain information as soon as your internet browser opens the OPUS online shop. Various companies offer software packages, which enable you to view the web sites anonymously. Although we are no longer able to offer you a personalised shopping experience insofar awe cannot recognise you, we would like you to know that these tools are available. In the OPUS online shop, we use the so-called webtracking system to obtain non-personalised information about the visitor and its purchasing behaviour.
Communication via e-mail: In order to make your e-mails more useful and interesting, we often receive a confirmation of the e-mails you open from the OPUS online shop, provided that your computer supports this function. We also compare our customer base with that of other companies in order to avoid sending unnecessary e-mails to our customers. If you do not want to receive any e-mail from us at all, please set your user account accordingly.
Information from other sources: Occasionally, we also use information about you from other sources and add these to our information about your customer account. We reserve the right to obtain information about your payment history from third parties (e.g. mail order companies, credit report agencies) in order to offer you certain facilities for payment (e.g. invoice payment).
Does the OPUS online shop transfer the information it receives to a third party?Information about our customers is important to us and helps us optimize our range of products. However, it is not part of our business to sell this customer information. Information received is forwarded to third parties solely in the following instances:
Affiliated companies: Affiliated companies controlled by OPUS Handels GmbH and their subsidiaries, provided that they are either subject to our data protection policy or comply with guidelines offering the same degree of protection.
Partner companies that are not controlled by OPUS Handels GmbH (e.g. franchise partners that operate OPUS Stores).
Service providers: We commission other companies and individuals with the fulfilment of tasks on our behalf. Here are some examples: Delivery of parcels, delivery of letters or e-mails, maintenance of our customer database, analysis of our database, publicity activities (including provision of search results and links), processing of payments (credit card, payment made by direct debit, advance payment as well as invoice purchase) as well as customer services. These service providers have access to the relevant personal information they need to perform their tasks. They may not use this information for any other purposes however. Furthermore, they are obliged to handle this information according to the data protection policy as well as the German data protection laws.
Promotions: Sometimes, we send offers to selected OPUS customer groups on behalf of other companies. When this occurs, the company receives neither your name nor your address or any other identifying information.
Transfer of business shares: As we are continuously improving our business, it is possible that we sell or buy subsidiaries, business components, or parts (e.g. shops). In such transactions, customer information is usually transferred together with the part of the company to be transferred. The data, however, continue to be subject to previously existing privacy policies (of course, except for the case that the customer expressly agrees to other regulations). In the unlikely case that the whole or substantial parts of the OPUS online shop are sold, personal data will be transferred to the buyer.
Protection of OPUS Online-Shops and third parties: We only pass on customer accounts and personal data when we are legally obliged to do so or if such a passing on of information is necessary in order to achieve our general terms of trade or other agreements or to protect our rights and those of our customers and the third party. This includes data exchange with companies specifically for the purpose of preventing and reducing misuse and credit card fraud. It is clearly expressed that no data is passed on for any business use that may contradict anything mentioned in the data protection policy.
With your consent: In all other cases, we will inform you when personal information should be passed on to a third person and allow you to give your consent.
We always ensure that information is in agreement with this data protection policy and with the German data protection laws when any personal information is passed on to a third party (as described above) in countries that lie outside of the European economic area.
